Approximately 150 Red Cross Youth Links and 36 youth officers participated in Linkamania 2017, a two-day one night camp, at Admiralty Secondary School.

Organised annually, Linkamania provides a platform for youths to learn about Red Cross Youth and inspires them on their Red Cross journey. The camp enables Links to step out of their comfort zone to collaborate with other youths, including those whom they have just met. The activities in this camp are aimed at inculcating values such as responsibility, resilience, teamwork and care in our Links.

The activities in Linkamania 2017 were centred on the Pokemon theme. Links participated in various activities to rescue Pikachu. In the end, Pikachu was saved, and the Links received certificates of participation for their hard work.

Besides saving Pikachu, the highlight of Linkamania was Linkamon Night, a campfire. The campfire was officially opened by the Guest-of-Honour, Associate Professor Faishal Ibrahim, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education and Ministry of Family and Social Development and Director of Red Cross Youth, Sahari Ani.

When the curtains drew to a close that night, the Links brought home enriching experiences and memories that they held close to their hearts. They also gleaned invaluable life skills that will stand them in good stead in the future.
